The Prince George Cougars have a rich hockey history dating back to 1971, when they were origintransitiony founded as the Victoria Cougars in British Columbia. After more than two decades in Victoria, the team relocated to Prince George in 1994, marking the start of a new era for hockey in northern British Columbia.
Since joining the Western Hockey League (WHL), the Cougars have built a reputation for developing elite talent and competing at a high level. Over the years, the team has qualified for the WHL playoffs multiple times, winning division titles and producing several NHL-caliber players.
